Did you know that combining modern medications with bariatric surgery could be the key to effectively addressing obesity, a condition that affects millions but often receives insufficient attention?

In this episode, I am accompanied by  Dr. Harald Puhalla, a bariatric surgeon. Together, we explore the ins and outs of pharmacotherapy and bariatric surgery as options for addressing obesity, a condition often overlooked in Australia. He contrasts these pharmacological options with bariatric surgery, which offers proven long-term weight loss, comprehensive follow-up care, and essential nutritional guidance. Additionally, he emphasises the importance of a multifaceted approach to obesity management, acknowledging both surgical and medical interventions while stressing the need for individualised patient support.
